Midnight tonight, the 4mg Wegovy tablet gets $50 more expensive. I checked 25 more programs against their published prices this morning.

What changed this week

Novo's discount on the 4mg Wegovy tablet ends tonight. Today it's $149 a month. Tomorrow it's $199. The 1.5mg starter tablet stays at $149 with no end date, and the 9mg and 25mg maintenance tablets stay at $299. The increase hits one group: anyone stepping up through 4mg in September. I read it on Novo's own page today. See which doses moved

No other program changed its price.

The cheapest GLP-1s this week

$149 a month, compounded semaglutide at Strut Health. That's the entry price on auto-refill.

$159 a month at Shed, the same price at every dose, which is rare. That's the twelve-month plan paid up front, $1,908 for the year. Month to month it's $199.

$169 a month at Found, also on the twelve-month plan. Month to month it's $289.

$175 a month at Ivim Health, on the six-month supply: a $75 membership plus about $100 for the medication.

What's moving in GLP-1

Sam's Club sells the Wegovy pill over the pharmacy counter. It's $149 a month at the 1.5mg starting dose and $299 at the maintenance dose. Cash, no insurance needed. You do need a membership. What Sam's Club charges

The Wegovy injection has its own discount, and it runs longer. New patients pay $199 a month for the first two fills, then $349. Novo publishes that one through December 31. Every manufacturer discount we track

Ask the Chart

A reader wrote in this week: what does this actually cost me? I have no insurance.

The cheapest cash route has nothing to do with insurance. It's compounded semaglutide at $149 a month, and all four programs above are cash prices with no coverage assumed. Branded costs more. The cheapest branded path is the Wegovy pill at $299 a month at the maintenance dose, before any program fee on top.

On the clinical trials board

Lilly is putting a daily pill against a weekly shot in children and teens with type 2 diabetes. The Phase 3 of orforglipron against dulaglutide is listed to start next month, 170 patients aged 10 to 17 at 17 sites. Novo Nordisk has a bigger one listed for September 22, 650 adults on zenagamtide against semaglutide at 43 sites. Neither is open yet. Registry start dates slip.

UT Southwestern is back on it, enrolling 120 adults in Dallas for tirzepatide paired with exercise training in heart failure. Amgen's 300-person maridebart cafraglutide study added a site in Missoula, Montana. Our clinical trials board tracks 90 studies and 78 are recruiting.

Many pay for the study medication and the visits, and some pay for travel. Many include a placebo group, so the medication is never guaranteed. A pre-screen sorts all 78 by ZIP code. Find one near you
