Verdict

Sesame is a cash-pay marketplace with a care plan on top. Success by Sesame runs $99 a month, billed each month, and its clinicians write to whatever pharmacy you name. You buy the drug on your own and pay for it there. It is a cheap way to a real branded script if you will handle the sourcing and refills yourself.

Pros

  • A low care fee for a real branded GLP-1 script: $99 a month, billed each month.
  • You can cancel month to month. Only the cheaper rates ask you to commit.
  • Same-day video visits with clinicians on the platform.
  • You name the pharmacy, so nothing ties you in.
  • Some clinicians speak Spanish.

Cons

  • Sesame is a marketplace. Each clinician sets their own standard, and Sesame vets them only for licensing.
  • Some clinicians on the platform will not write for a GLP-1.
  • There is no care after the visit. You book again or you hear nothing.
  • Sesame has no negotiated price on the drug. You pay whatever your pharmacy charges.
  • There is no coaching, no dietitian and nobody checking in.
Best for

People who want a clinician to write the script and will run their own refills, sourcing and dose changes.

Not for

Anyone who wants coaching, a dietitian, someone checking in, or a program that gets the drug for them.

What you pay

$398/mo is the cheapest cash route at maintenance: the $99/mo Success by Sesame plan, billed each month, plus the $299/mo NovoCare oral Wegovy pill at that dose. Commit and the plan gets cheaper: $79/mo on 3 months, $69/mo on 6 months and $59/mo for the year, which makes it $358 in total. Starter pill doses are $149/mo, so early months cost less.

Estimated cash price: $398/mo That is the membership. The medication is billed on top. Sesame Care publishes no price. This is our estimate from programs like it.

Lock-in and how to cancel

  • Cancel anytime

The plan is billed each month at $99 and you can cancel it. The cheaper rates buy a commitment: $79/mo on the 3-month plan, $69/mo on the 6-month plan and $59/mo on the annual plan.

How to cancel: Success by Sesame is billed each month at $99 and you can cancel month to month. The $79, $69 and $59 rates need 3, 6 or 12 months. This took the place of the old pay-per-visit model.

Which drugs you can get

Sesame does not dispense medication. Clinicians prescribe to your retail pharmacy of choice; sourcing and pricing happen outside the platform.

About compounded GLP-1 in 2026.

A licensed US pharmacy makes compounded semaglutide and tirzepatide to a prescription. They are not FDA-approved and they are not Wegovy, Ozempic, Zepbound or Mounjaro. The FDA does not review them for safety, effectiveness or quality, and their formulation, including the salt form, can differ from the approved drug. Confirm the active ingredient and the pharmacy with the prescriber. The FDA removed semaglutide from the drug-shortage list in February 2025, which narrowed the legal basis for routine 503A compounding of exact-copy semaglutide. Sesame Care uses a personalized-formulation model: the compound adds an active ingredient such as vitamin B12. Some state pharmacy boards tightened oversight through 2025 and 2026. For the full background see our compounded vs FDA-approved breakdown.

Sesame named both Medivant and Foothills Pharmacy publicly, making it one of the more transparent programs. However, the FDA 503B semaglutide compounding window closed on 5/22/2025; Sesame's post-shortage compounding model is unconfirmed.

Sesame Care reviews: what members report

Loved by self-directed buyers; criticized by patients who expected a program. Quality of clinician encounter varies more than at integrated programs because each one operates independently.

What works

  • Cheapest path to a script
  • Same-day visits
  • Wide clinician selection

What to watch

  • Provider quality varies
  • No follow-up unless you book again
  • Pharmacy cost separate
  • Some clinicians refuse to prescribe GLP-1

Frequently asked questions

Is Sesame Care legit?
Yes. Sesame Care is a real, operating GLP-1 telehealth service that connects you with a licensed US clinician and a pharmacy. On our independent review it scores 7.8 out of 10, graded on pricing transparency, cancellation terms, onboarding, medication options and member reviews. Sesame Care does not publish a price; our figure is an estimate from comparable programs. It bills month-to-month with no lock-in. To decide whether it fits your budget and needs, read the verdict and the full score breakdown above.
Is Sesame Care a scam?
No. We found no evidence that Sesame Care is a scam. It is a functioning telehealth program with licensed prescribers, real medication and a published cancellation policy, not a fake storefront. The caveats are in our score of 7.8 out of 10: pricing and the maintenance-dose total are the things to check, since the advertised figure is often the starter dose. Compare it against the rest of the chart before deciding.
Does Sesame include the medication?
No. Sesame sells the care, not the drug. The $99 a month buys the clinician. You take the script to any pharmacy and pay for the drug there, which usually costs more than at a program that fills it for you.
Will any Sesame doctor prescribe Wegovy or Zepbound?
Most clinicians listed under weight loss will, but it is their call. Filter for GLP-1 or weight loss when you book.
Do I need a follow-up?
A refill usually means a new visit. Some clinicians will renew by message for less, so ask at your first visit.
