Without insurance, the cheapest GLP-1 on our chart is $149 a month, with auto-refill, at Strut Health. That buys compounded semaglutide, a pharmacy-made version that is not FDA-approved and is not Wegovy, Ozempic, Zepbound or Mounjaro.

Straight from the maker, the Wegovy pill is $299 a month at the dose you stay on, and Zepbound is $299 to $449 a month by dose. At a pharmacy counter with no program, Ozempic is $998 a month.

Compounded GLP-1 through a telehealth program

Nine programs on our chart sell compounded semaglutide, at $149 (Strut Health, with auto-refill) to $348 a month for each refill. A licensed compounding pharmacy makes it to a prescription. The FDA does not review it for safety, effectiveness or quality, and its formulation, including the salt form, can differ from the approved drug.

Brand-name GLP-1 straight from the maker

Novo Nordisk sells the Wegovy pill through NovoCare for $299 a month at the dose you stay on and $149 at the 1.5 mg starting dose, and the Wegovy injection for $349. Eli Lilly sells Zepbound through LillyDirect for $299 to $449 a month by dose. The $449 holds only if you refill within 45 days of your last delivery. Neither charges a membership fee, and both need a prescription.
