GLP-1 patient assistance: only Ozempic and Trulicity qualify for a free supply

Novo Nordisk covers Ozempic and Lilly Cares covers Trulicity. Wegovy, Saxenda, Zepbound, Mounjaro and Foundayo are on neither company's published list, so no free route to any of them exists.

200% and 300% of the 2026 federal poverty guidelines for the 48 contiguous states and DC. Alaska and Hawaii use higher figures. Lilly Cares prints the same four numbers on page 1 of its application.
How to apply
Novo Nordisk, for Ozempic: apply at diabetespap.novocare.com. The Ozempic page has every step and how long each one takes.
Lilly Cares, for Trulicity:
- Get the current application at lillycares.com or by calling 1-800-545-6962. An outdated form is not accepted.
- Fill in the patient pages, then sign the certification and the HIPAA authorization.
- Ask your prescriber to complete and sign the prescriber pages.
- Fax the signed application to 1-844-431-6650, or have your prescriber's office fax it. If you apply online at lillycares.com, skip the fax.
- Lilly Cares sends you and your prescriber a letter saying whether you qualify.
What this means if you take a weight-loss GLP-1
The routes that do work for those drugs are priced, not free. A savings card if your insurance is commercial, the maker's cash program if it is not. On Medicare it is the CMS Bridge. The telehealth chart sits under all three.
A savings card only works once your plan covers the drug, and most plans want a prior authorization first. Our prior authorization letters are written against each plan's own policy.
Frequently asked questions
Does the Novo Nordisk patient assistance program cover Wegovy?
No. Ozempic is the only GLP-1 on the January 2026 product list. Wegovy and Saxenda are not on it. The list we read is the one Novo Nordisk publishes, document NNIPAP_11_01012026.
Does Lilly Cares cover Zepbound or Mounjaro?
No. Trulicity is the only GLP-1 on the Lilly Cares medication list. Zepbound, Mounjaro and Foundayo are not on it. The list sits inside the Lilly Cares application itself.
How much can I earn and still qualify?
For one person in 2026, $31,920 a year for Ozempic through Novo Nordisk (200% of the poverty level) and $47,880 for Trulicity through Lilly Cares (300%). For a household of four, $66,000 and $99,000. Both count the whole household.
My drug is on neither list. What now?
With commercial insurance a manufacturer savings card takes your copay as low as $25 a month. Without it, the makers' own cash programs and the telehealth chart are what is left. On Medicare the CMS GLP-1 Bridge is $50 a month for Wegovy, Foundayo and the Zepbound KwikPen.
Is there a fee to apply?
No. Both programs are free to apply to. Anyone charging you to fill in the form is selling you paperwork you can do yourself.
