How 21 US insurers treat GLP-1s across the payer policies GLP Chart has read.
The numbers
- GLP Chart has read 67 payer drug policies covering GLP-1s across 21 insurers.
- 43 of the 67 policies cover the drug, every one of them with prior authorization.
- 24 of the 67 policies do not cover the drug for weight loss on the standard formulary.
- 20 of the 67 policies let a self-funded employer carve the benefit out, so the insurer's answer is not the plan's answer.
- Aetna carries the most policies GLP Chart has read, at 6.
