What Part D covers

Medicare Part D covers GLP-1s for type 2 diabetes. For weight loss alone, Part D has long been barred from paying; the Bridge is the route that opened for eligible people, and Wegovy is also covered when prescribed to cut heart risk in people with heart disease.

Who the Bridge leaves out

The Bridge has eligibility rules and a fixed drug list. Our Bridge page and checker walk through who qualifies and what to do if you do not.

Paying cash on Medicare

You can pay cash for a GLP-1 outside your Medicare plan. Maker discount cards usually cannot be used with Medicare, but the makers' own cash prices and compounded programs can.
