Your plan does not decide

The Bridge runs outside your plan. CMS approves the request and pays the pharmacy through its own central processor, so a Humana member and a Wellcare member get the same $50 on the same rules.

Your plan still decides one thing. If you have type 2 diabetes, sleep apnea or MASH, the request goes to the plan, and its formulary sets what you pay. How that route works.

Frequently asked questions

Does Medicare Advantage cover the GLP-1 Bridge?

Yes, if the plan includes drug coverage. CMS runs the Bridge and pays the pharmacy itself, and your plan does not have to opt in.

Will Humana or Wellcare pay for Wegovy for weight loss?

Medicare pays through the Bridge, at $50 a month if you qualify, whichever drug plan you hold. For diabetes, sleep apnea or MASH, the plan's own formulary decides. Wellcare's Medicare GLP-1 coverage has the details for that plan.

I have Medigap. Can I use the Bridge?

Only if you also have a Part D drug plan. Medigap does not include drug coverage.
